An insightful ASI (Annual Survey of Industries) Round Table Conference was organized at Hotel Regenta, Bhuj. This important event was facilitated by the National Statistical Office (NSO, FOD), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), SRO Surendranagar of RO Ahmedabad in collaboration with FOKIA (Federation of Kutch Industries Associations) , BHUJ. The central objective of the conference was to motivate factory management teams to take ownership in the self-compilation of ASI returns and to highlight the importance of ASI data for informed policy-making.

Key Highlights of the events were:

1. Empowering Factory Management for Self-Compilation of ASI Returns.

2. Understanding the Importance of ASI Data.

3. Collaboration between Industry, Academia, and Government.

4. Plantation Drive at Kachchh University.

As a key outcome of the event, Factory management teams are now better equipped with the knowledge and motivation to take charge of ASI data compilation, ensuring that the data is accurate and up to date. This led to a stronger collaboration between industry stakeholders and statistical bodies , paving the way for more such collaboration. The ASI helps in understanding the contribution of various industries to the national GDP. This data enables economists to track long-term trends and forecast future industrial growth patterns. It also helps identify regions where industrial development is thriving or where it may require more attention. This conference has set the stage for improved self-reporting practices and has provided invaluable insights for policymakers working to shape the future of India's industrial landscape. The plantation drive at Kachchh University symbolized a holistic approach to sustainability, merging industrial growth with environmental stewardship.

This conference was inaugurated by Dr. Niyati Joshi, Deputy Director General and Regional head of Gujarat (Western Region) of Field Operation Division, RO Ahmedabad in the presence of Nimish Phadki, Managing Director, FOKIA, Bhuj, Pradyuman Sing Gohil, Research Assistant at Directorate of Economics, Government of Gujarat, Shraddha Muley, Assistant Director at RO Ahmedabad, Senior Statistical Officers and Junior Statistical Officers  from NSRO, Ahmedabad  and SRO, Surendranagar and Around 60 Industry Group Representatives were present at the (Annual Survey of Industries) Round Table Conference.

On the side lines of RTC for ASI, a Plantation Drive was held at Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University in the presence of Dr Anil Gor, Registrar of Kachchh University to make environment clean and green and to tackle climate change making a healthy and resilient society. This initiative served to raise awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability and the role of industries in contributing to green initiatives. Participants engaged in planting saplings, reinforced the theme of responsibility towards both industrial and environmental progress.
