Telecom Outreach Programme Held in Bengaluru to Promote ease of doing business and Entrepreneurship in telecom by O/o CCA Karnataka, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India

The office of Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Karnataka Circle, under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), successfully organized a Telecom Outreach Programme at Sanchar Soudha, Palace Road, Bengaluru on 24 March 2025. The event was held from 11 AM to 4 PM, and was attended by Senior Officials from C-DoT, ITI, National Skill training institute, BSNL and universities/Colleges such as BMS, BIT along with startups & Telecom Licensees. The objective was to promote awareness and understanding of telecom regulations, business opportunities, and technological advancements among aspiring entrepreneurs, telecom licensees, and university students.
The programme commenced with the opening remarks of CCA Karnataka, setting the stage for insightful discussions and expert presentations. A key highlight of the event was an expert session on the benefits of AI applications in wired and Wi-Fi networks, tailored for students and telecom professionals. Another critical session focused on cybersecurity, addressing the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities in the sector. Stakeholders were also made aware of various portals od DOT such as SARAS, Sanchar Saathi, SARAL SANCHAR etc.

Additionally, participants were provided with a detailed presentation on the New Telecom Act,2023 NEFT/RTGS payment process through the SARAS platform, along with an online demonstration on its functionalities, including license fee payments, document submission, BG module, and the grievance redressal system. Another important segment covered the license and financial conditions, along with roles and responsibilities, offering clarity to telecom licensees and new entrants in the industry.
A key feature of the event was a one-on-one discussion session with telecom licensees facing License Fee (LF) assessment dues, ensuring personalized guidance and resolution of queries.
The initiative aimed to apprise ease of doing business and encourage entrepreneurship in the telecom sector by helping new businesses navigate regulatory requirements and financial obligations seamlessly. By fostering a better understanding of telecom regulations and digital payment mechanisms, the programme provided a platform for both existing and aspiring telecom professionals to enhance their working knowledge and efficiency.
The Telecom Outreach Programme was well-received, with participants expressing appreciation for the insightful sessions and expert guidance. The Department of Telecommunications reaffirmed its commitment to supporting new entrepreneurs and ensuring a transparent, efficient telecom ecosystem in doing business.
