This free, walk-in event will be held daily from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, offering an immersive experience into Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
Bihu, the lifeblood of Assamese cultural identity, is a celebration of community, tradition, and artistic expression. Recognizing the significance of preserving and promoting this vibrant heritage, CBC Guwahati has curated this workshop to introduce participants to the essence of Bihu through its traditional dance and musical instruments.
Guided by the talented staff artists of the Song & Drama Division of CBC Guwahati, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the energetic and graceful Bihu dance, along with the rhythmic beats of the Dhol and the melodious sounds of traditional instruments like the Gogona. This hands-on engagement aims to foster a deeper appreciation for Assamese folk traditions and encourage their continuity across generations.
The workshop will commence with an inaugural ceremony on April 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Through this initiative, CBC Guwahati reaffirms its commitment to preserving and celebrating Assam’s rich cultural heritage, ensuring that the vibrant spirit of Bihu continues to thrive in the hearts of future generations.
