The Valediction Ceremony of the Induction Training for the 77th batch of IRS  will  beheld  on 14th April, 2025 at 10 am in the Rangshala Auditorium of  National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur. Sh. Pankaj Chaudhary,  Minister of State for Finance will  be the Chief Guest on the occasion. Sh. Prabodh Seth, Member (Admin), CBDT, Sh. Sanjay Bahadur, Pr. DGIT (Training), New Delhi will be the guests of honour on the occasion. 84 Officer Trainees including 02 officers of the Royal Bhutan Service have successfully completed the training.

The National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur is the apex training institute for the Indian Revenue Service Officers (Income Tax) of the Government of India. The IRS Officers are recruited through the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The direct recruit IRS Officers undergo Induction Training of about 16 months at NADT, Nagpur before being posted to field offices.

Through a meticulously planned curriculum, the Induction Programme ensures to equip the participants with the knowledge, skills, and mind-set required to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to the development of the nation.

The training methodology of the Induction Training is grounded in the concept of "Viksit Bharat," in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India focusing on fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation among the officers. The programme included a mix of classroom sessions, practical exercises, case studies, and interactive discussions, covering various aspects of tax administration, leadership, and public service ensuring “PRUDENT” approach as envisaged by Chairman, CBDT.

The training equips the Officer Trainees with the knowledge and skills required to function as citizen centric tax authorities and contribute towards revenue augmentation. On the successful completion of the induction training, the Officer Trainees are posted as Assistant Commissioners of Income-tax in field formation and are entrusted with governing revenue collection and being an important part in nation-building.
