Hon. Minister Shri V. Somanna Dedicates Road Under Bridge at D. Rampura, Lays Foundation Stone for RUBs in Tumakuru District

Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti Shri V. Somanna dedicated the newly constructed Road Under Bridge (RUB) in lieu of Level Crossing (LC) No. 62 at D. Rampura village near Gubbi,Tumkur District and laid the foundation stones for the construction of two RUBs at Billepalya (LC No. 50) and Bandihalli Road Gate (LC No. 60), in a function held at Bandihalli Road gate today.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister emphasized that the newly inaugurated RUB at D. Rampura will largely benefit the residents of the area by reducing travel time and enhancing road safety. He further said that the RUBs for which the foundation stones were laid today will similarly serve the public and contribute to the region’s development. Shri Somanna instructed the concerned officials to ensure that high construction quality standards are maintained and that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframes. He also directed the contractors to execute the RUBs work in such a manner that prevents water stagnation during the rainy season, ensuring long-term durability.

Shri Jyothi Ganesh, Hon’ble MLA of Tumakuru City, Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Parikshit Mohanpuria, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Krishna Chaitanya, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and other Railway officials were present on the occasion. Road Under Bridge (RUB) in lieu of Level Crossing (LC) Gate No. 62 (D. Rampura Gate), located between Nittur and Sampige Road stations, has been constructed at an approximate cost of Rs. 6.37 crores. The Road Under Bridge in lieu of LC No. 60 (Bandihalli Gate), located between Nittur and Sampige Road stations will be constructed at an approximate cost of Rs. 7.88 crores and RUB in lieu of LC No. 50 (Billepalya Gate), located between Mallasandra and Gubbi stations, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 6 crores.

These Road Under Bridges will help in the smooth flow of traffic by avoiding long waits at level crossings, thereby ensuring seamless connectivity, enhancing road safety, and contributing to overall transportation efficiency.
