BIS Bangalore Hosts “Manak Samvad” for Orientation of New Licensees

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bengaluru Branch Office, successfully organized a Manak Samvad Programme aimed at empowering 42 newly licensed stakeholders from various sectors. The initiative was part of BIS’s ongoing efforts to enhance awareness, understanding, and compliance with its certification processes and quality assurance practices.

The programme was graced by Shri Praveen Khanna, Deputy Director General (South), BIS Bengaluru as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the licensees for joining the BIS quality ecosystem and highlighted BIS’s efforts in reaching stakeholders across industries, academia, consumers, and government through various outreach initiatives. Smt. Sushma Rao M, Director & Head, BIS Bengaluru, delivered the welcome address, encouraging licensees to actively engage with the quality movement. Informative sessions were led by Smt. Premlata Sinha, Joint Director, covering BIS guidelines, digital tools, and Quality Control Orders (QCOs).

To support continued learning, each in-person participant received a 32 GB pen drive containing all relevant materials, including presentations, referred standards, and user manuals. The programme concluded with the distribution of license documents, marking the formal induction of the new licensees. Participants appreciated the interactive nature of the training, the clarity of the content, and the opportunity to directly engage with BIS officials to resolve their queries.

This initiative reflects BIS’s steadfast commitment to capacity building and stakeholder empowerment. Through regular training programmes, Bengaluru Branch Office, continues to ensure that licensees are well-equipped to maintain compliance, promote quality, and contribute to India’s standardization ecosystem.
