The Government of India has taken a proactive and well-considered step by enabling the advance lifting of foodgrains for a period of three months. This decision has been made to ensure uninterrupted food security for every household, particularly in light of the upcoming monsoon season.

The primary objective is to prevent any disruptions that may arise due to loss of connectivity during heavy rains, especially in remote and vulnerable regions.

It is important to note that such advance distribution measures have been undertaken in the past as well, in accordance with existing rules and provisions. This initiative reflects GoI’s continued commitment to grassroots preparedness and reinforces public confidence in maintaining the smooth supply of essential commodities under all circumstances.
