Hon'ble Minister of State of Jal Shakti and Railways Shri V Somanna will inaugurate Talkal - Kushtagi stretch of Gadag - Wadi New Line and lay foundation stone for Sindhanur - Raichur stretch of Ginigera - Raichur New Line at two separate ceremonies at Kushtagi and Sindhanur, Karnataka at 10.30 AM and 2 PM respectively tomorrow 15.5.2025.

The Gadag - Wadi New Line, sanctioned in 2013-14 is a cost sharing project with Govt of Karnataka. The state government is also providing land free of cost for this project. This line will enhance railway connectivity in North Karnataka region. The line takes off from Talkal station, Koppal Distt, and railway line up to Kushtagi 55 km has been laid. The project is targeted to be completed by 2027. Shri V Somanna will also flag off a new train service between Kushtagi - Hubballi.

Later in the day, at 2 PM, Hon'ble Minister will lay foundation stone for Sindhanur to Raichur stretch of Ginigera - Raichur New Line. This long pending railway project will provide a shorter route to connect Kalyana Karnataka region to Telangana through Raichur. This is a cost sharing project between Railways and Govt of Karnataka. The project is targeted to be completed by 2027. Both projects herald a new era of strong railway connectivity which has got a unprecedented boost during Modi 3.0.
