100+ startups and entrepreneurs participate in BIS and IIT Bombay's Startup Meet
Startup meet at IIT Bombay focuses on the critical role of standards and conformity assessment in driving innovation

Startups, innovators, and regulatory experts came together today at a Startup Meet, organized by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in collaboration with IIT Bombay - Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), at IIT Bombay today. The stakeholders discussed the critical role of standards and conformity assessment in driving innovation, ensuring quality, and achieving global scalability.
More than 100 startups and entrepreneurs participated in the Meet, and engaged in interactive sessions on how standardization can enhance product quality, consumer trust, and market access.
The Director of IIT Bombay Prof. Shireesh Kedare, CEO, SINE Shri Shaji Varghese, Deputy Director General, (Standardization), BIS Smt. Reena Garg, and Scientist-F, BIS, Shri Deepak Kumar Aggarwal were present amongst the key participants of the Startup Meet.
The meet reinforced BIS’s commitment to nurturing India’s innovation ecosystem by integrating standards into the startup journey from the outset.
