The Department of Hindi, Pondicherry University, will organize the 25^th National Workshop under the SWAYAM MOOC course ‘Bhasha Proudyogiki ka Parichay’ (An Introduction to Language Technology) on 28^th May 2025. The theme of this landmark workshop is “Revolution of AI in Machine Translation: 'Anuvadini' and other tools.”

The workshop will be chaired by Dr. C. Jaya Sankar Babu, Head of the Department of Hindi and Course Coordinator of the SWAYAM MOOC. A prominent scholar in computational linguistics, Dr. Babu has been instrumental in integrating modern technology into language studies. This event will focus on recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) for machine translation, particularly highlighting the capabilities of the ‘Anuvadini’ AI platform of Government of India.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, CEO of Anuvadini AI and Chief Coordinating Officer, AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Dr. Chandrasekhar is a pioneer in digital education and multilingual AI integration in India. He has played a key role in national initiatives such as the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT), which democratizes access to high-quality EdTech resources.

As CEO of ‘Anuvadini’, he leads the development of an indigenous AI-powered translation platform that enables real-time translation of voice, video, and documents across 29 Indian and international languages. This initiative directly contributes to the Government of India’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” vision by promoting multilingual inclusivity.

Mr. Umesh Kumar Prajapati 'Alakh' and Dr. Anshul Dubey will serve as co-conveners and comperes, facilitating the proceedings and engaging with participants.
