Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, chaired a high-level security review meeting in Jammu to review the preparedness of Shri Amarnathji Yatra which is scheduled from 3rd July to 9th August this year.
During the meeting, the Union Home Minister said that the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to making the Yatra of pilgrims safe, smooth and convenient. He reiterated the unwavering commitment of Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards national security and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shri Amit Shah gave necessary directions to the concerned agencies to ensure peaceful completion of the holy Yatra. The meeting focused on assessing threat perception, reviewing deployment strategies and strengthening inter-agency coordination between security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration. The Home Minister emphasized the need for high vigilance, real-time intelligence sharing and seamless coordination among all security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region. Union Home Minister also directed the security agencies to remain vigilant and ensure adequate deployment of security personnel for the Amarnath Yatra. He also directed for establishing precise inter-agency coordination for effective security arrangements including an established standard operating response mechanism.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation directed the security establishments to implement a robust SOP mechanism to deal with any emerging challenge swiftly and effectively. He emphasized the importance of a proactive approach, use of advanced surveillance techniques and maintaining synergy between all stakeholders including Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Jammu and Kashmir Police and intelligence agencies. During the meeting, Shri Shah also directed all security agencies to work on complete area domination and zero error principle.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, Union Home Secretary, Shri Govind Mohan, Director, Intelligence Bureau, Shri Tapan Kumar Deka, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, GOC 15 Corps, Chief Secretary, J&K, DGP, J&K, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, and NIA, as well as Divisional Commissioners and Inspectors General of Police from Jammu and Kashmir.
