Under the aegis of India Post, a tree plantation and public awareness program was organized on ‘World Environment Day’. On this occasion, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region & Saurashtra and Kutch Region, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav released a special cancellation on at the Rajkot Head Post Office to mark World Environment Day and planted trees to promote the environmental protection. He said that environmental protection is the biggest need of today, to ensure that the coming generation gets pure oxygen for survival, plant as many trees as possible and take care of them like family member. Rising global temperatures can be mitigated through trees and plants.

On this occasion, Shri Yadav drew the attention of postal employees to the increasing plastic pollution in the environment and the resulting imbalances. He urged every postal employee to become a partner in its mitigation through tree plantation and encouraged them to use eco-friendly products.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the theme of World Environment Day this year is "Beat Plastic Pollution". The theme supports solutions to the plastic pollution crisis and encourages people, communities and governments to adopt sustainable practices. It also advocates immediate action to reduce and eliminate plastic waste.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav encouraged postal staff to adopt an environment-friendly lifestyle and save natural resources. He said that planting trees only on special days will not work, rather we have to be aware every day like Environment Day and plant a tree every month. We have to make our future generation aware about environmental protection.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Shri R R Virda said that t is the responsibility of all of us to plant for environmental protection. Senior Postmaster Shri K S Shukla said that trees give us life, therefore, along with planting trees, their protection is also very important. Assistant Director Shri K S Thakkar explained the importance of plantation with the slogan of ‘One Person, One Tree’.
On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Shri R R Virda, Sr. Postmaster Shri K S Shukla, Assistant Director Shri K S Thakkar, Superintendent of RMS Shri Anil Kumar, Secretary of Rajkot Philatelic Association Shri HC Mehta, Secretary of Rajkot Philatelic Society Shri Jignesh Shah, Shri Rajesh Kothari, Assistant Superintendent Shri B K Zid, Shri K G Jasani, Inspector Shri J J Dangar, Shri D D Vaghela, Shri Bhavesh Kubavat, Shri Kishor Bhatti, many other officials were present.
