The Bar and Rod Mill (BRM) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has set a new daily production record on 05th June 2025 by producing 3,381 tonnes (1,642 billets) of TMT bars in a single day in 12mm profile. The previous record for this grade stood at 3,368 tonnes (1,635 billets), achieved on 26th September 2024.

The accomplishment was achieved with the technical capability and operational excellence of BRM, with efficient coordination between advanced technology and skilled manpower. Over time, BRM has successfully rolled out numerous challenging profiles, further enriching its product portfolio. The production of high-quality TMT bars has enabled the mill to cater more effectively to the demands of various industrial and construction sectors.

Shri Rakesh Kumar, ED (Works), visited the BRM shop floor to personally congratulate the team. He celebrated the achievement by distributing sweets among employees and acknowledged the collective contribution of each member in BRM’s consistent success. Shri Rakesh Kumar emphasised that such team-driven milestones are laying a strong foundation for the future.

Shri Yogesh Shastri, CGM, BRM, congratulated the entire mill fraternity, stating that the achievement symbolises the department’s dedication, team spirit, and unwavering pursuit of excellence. He attributed the success to coordinated teamwork, timely maintenance, and departmental synergy. Shri Shastri affirmed that the BRM team is determined to surpass future targets and will continue to perform with similar zeal. He also expressed gratitude to the plant management, union representatives, employees, and allied departments for their continuous support, and sought similar cooperation in the times to come.
