The Joint Secretary for the Passport Seva Project and Chief Passport Officer, Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, today (16.6.2025) inaugurated the Mobile passport seva van in the iconic M.A.Chidambaram cricket stadium in Chennai. The van Service aims to to provide passport services at the door step of those applicants who reside in rural and far last mile delivery of citizen centric services apart from the existing Passport Seva Kendra’s (PSKs) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendra’s (POPSKs) which are present.

The van would be deployed initially in Tambaram, Chennai before proceeding to nearby ditricts where time limits for obtaining Passport appointments are too high.

The Regional Passport Officer, Chennai Shri S. Vijayakumar and other senior officials from TCS were also present during the launch event.
