Commemoration of the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025 at Kanheri Caves, Mumbai

Mumbai, 20 June 2025

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, through its Regional Office in Mumbai, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Mumbai Circle, and Sanjay Gandhi National Park, will commemorate the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on Saturday, 21 June 2025, at the historic Kanheri Caves, Mumbai.

The event, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasizes the transformative role of yoga in promoting holistic well-being and environmental sustainability. The proceedings will commence at 06:00 AM with a live telecast of the address by the Prime Minister of India, followed by a formal demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol.

The commemoration will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. Approximately 500 participants, including government officials, representatives from educational institutions, yoga practitioners, tourism stakeholders, and members of the public, are expected to attend, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.

The International Day of Yoga at Kanheri Caves provides a prestigious platform to highlight the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, fostering global unity and societal harmony. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of promoting yoga as a universal practice for health and well-being.

All citizens are cordially invited to participate in this momentous occasion and contribute to the vision of a harmonious and prosperous nation.
