Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar celebrates International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health

Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar embarked on a week-long celebration with great enthusiasm and reverence to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) from 19th – 25th June, 2025. The event embraced this year’s global theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, reflecting the universal benefits of yoga in fostering holistic well-being for individuals and the planet.



Considering the deep rooted spiritual and philosophical foundations of Yoga, the Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar (A Unit of National Council of Science Museums) under Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India celebrated the IDY-2025 and various activities were conducted which featured a guided yoga practice session under the banner Yoga Sangam, the flagship signature event of IDY- 2025, Live streaming of Honourable Prime Minister’s address, Interactive session on “Stress & Lifestyle Management and Diseases prevention” on 21st June, 2025 in association with JKYog India. The session included foundational asanas, breathing techniques, and meditation practices curated in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol. To mark the event, an Online Contest on “3 Generation Yoga” was conducted in which the participants were required to upload pictures of 3 generations (Grandparent to Grand Children) performing yogic postures. In order to add value to the event and as a part of social inclusiveness and accessibility, Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar with support from Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan, Bhubaneswar and the State Bank of India, RCE Campus, Bhubaneswar organised an Inclusive Yoga Session for the differently abled children, professionals, security personnels and staff members of the centre, presided over by Yoga professional Sh. Suresh Kumar Mohapatra, Prant Pradhan (Odisha), Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan.
Sh. Kapil Jain, Project Coordinator, Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar emphasized how yoga, beyond being a physical discipline, is a profound journey toward inner harmony and universal well-being. The event concluded with a happy note and distribution of certificates to the children.
