On the occasion of the 8th GST Day, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has awarded a Commendation Certificate to the Thiruvananthapuram CGST Zone for its performance in two key areas of GST administration: processing of GST registrations and disposal of GST appeals.

Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to taxpayer facilitation and administrative efficiency, the Zone has topped the national rankings by processing 55% of GST registration applications within 7 days, as compared to the national average of 17%. In the area of GST appeals, the Thiruvananthapuram Zone once again emerged as the front-runner by successfully disposing of 83% of appeals filed during the year, reflecting a robust dispute resolution mechanism.

This commendation underscores the sustained efforts of the officers and staff of the Zone in delivering taxpayer-centric services, promoting ease of doing business, and upholding the objectives of the Goods and Services Tax.
