Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. Prakash Babu participates in the two-days Vice Chancellors’ Conference of Central Universities on NEP 2020 in Action: Transforming Higher Education held in Statue of Unity, Kevadia, Gujarat on 10 & 11^th July 2025.

Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, was the Chief guest and inaugurated the conference today. Dr. Vineet Joshi Chairman, UGC & Secretary, Higher Education, gave the opening remarks about the conference. Vice- Chancellors from leading universities across India, senior officials from the Ministry of Education and UGC, as well as academic leaders and policy experts are participating in the conference.

The conference is focusing on Central Universities’ role as drivers of educational transformation and their contribution to Viksit Bharat@2047, critical themes in higher education policy, institutional governance, research and innovation and national development priorities. 

This conference provides an important platform for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas to advance the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, thereby shaping the future of higher education in India.
