Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Labour & Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, inaugurated the 16th Rozgar Mela in Bengaluru and handed over the appointment letters to the newly recruited candidates. A total of 185 appointment certificates were distributed to the candidates including 61 for the Railways, 46 for public sector banks, 14 for the BSF and CISF, 12 for the Postal Department, and 7 for the Income Tax Department. 

Addressing the event, the minister Sushri Shobha Karandlaje emphasized that new and young employees will play an important and vital role in New India. Dedication, sincerity and commitment during their service is crucial and this will contribute to the nation’s development. The minister highlighted that events like Rozgar Mela provide a much needed motivation to the new recruits. In view of this, 16 Rozgar Melas have been held so far, under the leadership of Hon.Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The minister also highlighted that, Hon.Prime Minister Narendra Modi works for over 18 hours a day and employees should similarly dedicate more time to their work in order to contribute to their departments' progress. It will help to build a New India i.e. Viksit Bharat. "At today’s Rozgar Mela, many candidates have got opportunities in the Indian armed forces, which is great pride to everyone. Soldiers do not work merely for salaries or to feed their families only, they are committed to protecting India’s 140 crore citizens and dedicating their lives to the nation’s security and service," the minister said.

The minister encouraged the youth and new employees to work towards the country’s progress for achieving a developed India by 2047 as per Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. Every citizen and employee has a vital role to play in this mission. 

The minister also mentioned that over seven crore people have registered with the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), with a significant increase in numbers in recent years. The Union Government has introduced several schemes and programmes to enhance employment opportunities for the youth. Several measures are also being taken to provide various benefits to those who are working in the unorganized sector.

Shri. Ashutosh Mathur, Additional Divisional Railway Manager of South Western Railway, Bengaluru Division and senior officials from various departments were also present on the occasion.
