The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Regional Office, Jaipur organized a Consumer Outreach Program (COP) Today on 17th July 2025 at Parul University, Post: Limda, Taluka: Waghodia, Vadodara, Gujarat 391760. The program was mainly focused on creating awareness about Cyber Hygiene and the measures taken by TRAI to curb cyber fraud menace. Efforts of TRAI in quality of service improvement & Systematize Customer complaint redressal by service providers were also presented.

The event commenced with inaugural address by Shri Rajesh Kumar Agerwal, ITS, Advisor, TRAI RO Jaipur, who emphasized the importance of consumer awareness in combating the growing problem of cyber frauds, spam calls and messages. He highlighted TRAI's commitment to protecting consumers from fraudulent activities in the telecom sector. A presentation was made by Amit Prakash, Senior Research Officer on TRAI initiatives to curb spamming, TRAI DND App and other initiatives of consumer interest.

 

A presentation on Broadcasting and Cable services was given by Ms Shivani Sharma, Joint Advisor, TRAI HQ New Delhi. A lecture was also delivered by Sh. Avinash Rathi, Director, Department of Telecommunication Gujarat LSA on DOT's initiative in controlling of Cyber Crimes and consumer awareness about Sanchar Saathi App/portal and EMF Radiation Awareness. Sh Mahendra K Motwani, Cyber Security Expert and Police Inspector, Cyber Crime Police Station Vadodara City also delivered presentation on Cyber Security and initiatives by Gujarat State Police department for Cyber awareness and prevention thereof. The event saw active interaction from students, faculty, consumer rights groups and media representatives with discussions on real-life fraud cases and preventive measures.

Program ended with vote of thanks by Sh. Rakesh Purohit, Deputy Advisor to all participants.
