The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), through the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), is organizing Anvesha 2.0, a nationwide quiz competition on official statistics, on July 18, 2025. The event will be held simultaneously in all State Capitals, including Thiruvananthapuram.

Organized to mark 75 years of the National Sample Survey (NSS), Anvesha 2.0 is open to students and alumni from colleges and universities, particularly those in Statistics, Economics, and related disciplines. The quiz will cover topics such as the Indian Economy, official statistics, statistical surveys, the role of NSO, and key government data-driven initiatives.

In Kerala, the event will be held at Hotel Dimora, Thiruvananthapuram, and inaugurated by Shri P.C. Mohanan, ISS (Retd.), Chairman, Kerala State Statistical Commission. Around 100 students from across the state are expected to participate. Senior officials from NSO and the Department of Economics and Statistics will be present.

The quiz will be hosted by noted educationists Prof. Somasekharan Pillai M and Dr. Vinesh Kumar. Anvesha 2.0 aims to spark student interest in the field of official statistics and highlight its relevance in nation-building.
