PARLIAMENT QUESTION: KUNDANKULAM NUCLEAR POWER PROJECT

Presently, two units i.e., KKNPP-1 & 2 are operational at the Kudankulam Site.
The total power output from the operational units at KKNPP is 2000 MW comprising of KKNPP, Unit-1 & 2 (2 x 1000 MW).
The power generated by central sector power generating stations is allocated to the beneficiary states and union territories in the electricity region by the Ministry of Power (MoP) as per laid down norms. Accordingly, the power from KKNPP - 1&2 (2x1000 MW) has been allocated as follows:

With regard to the allocation of power from upcoming units i.e., KKNPP-3 & 4 (2X1000 MW) & KKNPP-5 & 6 (2X1000 MW), Ministry of Power will take a decision at an appropriate time.
Presently four reactors i.e., KKNPP-3 & 4 (2 x 1000 MW) and KKNPP-5 & 6 (2 x1000 MW) are at different stages of construction and are planned to be commissioned progressively, taking up the total capacity of the site to 6000 MW.
This information was given by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, MoS Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
