Saturation of Financial Inclusion Campaign receives significant response in Karnataka: SLBC convenor, Karnataka
2.04 crore PM Jan Dhan Yojana accounts active in the state

Press Information Bureau, Bengaluru under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organized Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting today at PIB, Bengaluru office to publicize the ongoing nation wide campaign on Saturation of Financial Inclusion . The Department of Financial Services under Ministry of Finance has initiated this campaign from 1st July to 30th September 2025 at Gram Panchayat and Urban local bodies level.
Shri S.G. Raveendra, Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau, Bengaluru chaired the meeting as IMPCC, Karnataka Chairperson. In the opening remarks, ADG, PIB, Bengaluru explained about the recently launched 3-month campaign on Saturation of financial inclusion, being carried out in the Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) levels throughout the state. He urged the members from key central government departments to work together in spreading awareness about the significance and usefulness of the schemes to the people.

Shri M. Bhaskara Chakravarthy, General Manager of Canara Bank and Convenor of SLBC( State Level Bankers' Committee) briefed the members regarding the social security schemes covered in the saturation campaign. He said that the schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana are covered as part of the financial inclusion campaign. He emphasized that activities like re-KYC (Know Your Customer) for inactive Jan Dhan accounts, nominations and new enrollments for the insurance schemes are being carried out. He emphasized that rural population and informal workers are the main beneficiaries of these schemes. They can get the benefits from these schemes by investing bare minimum amount of money.

In Karnataka, the campaign has received a significant response. Out of the total 5948 Gram Panchayats, the campaign has been successfully carried out in 1744 Gram Panchayats so far. About 30% of the population in the state has been covered under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana and about 21% have been covered under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. So far in Karnataka, 2.04 crore active accounts have been recorded under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana along with 14,940 new accounts opened during the campaign, he said.

Other recently launched central government initiatives like Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme and NIMHANS's Tele MANAS helpline, a telephonic counselling support, dedicated for the individuals suffering with mental health issues were also discussed by the members in the meeting. The meeting brought together representatives from key central government departments.
