Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, hosted a high-profile media interaction today, chaired by its Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel. Joining him were Mr. Yash Sharma, Director, School of Physical Education and Sports (SPES); Dr. Utsav Chaware, Director, Bharat Centre of Olympic Research & Education (BCORE); and Lt. (Dr.) Gaurav Singh Kushwah, Director, School of NCC and Police Martial Music Band, Pro-VC RRU, Registrar RRU, were in attendance. The session brought forth several strategic announcements aimed at reinforcing RRU’s commitment to excellence in national security education and global sports collaboration.
Key Announcements and Highlights:
- India to Host World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) 2029 – Led by RRU
Rashtriya Raksha University played a pivotal role in India’s successful bid to host the prestigious World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) in 2029. As a key organizing partner, RRU will host eight of the sixty-three events on its campus, reflecting its advanced infrastructure and international event management capabilities. To facilitate transparency and public engagement, the official website — www.wpfg2029.com — was virtually launched during the media interaction. Further reinforcing its commitment, RRU will be building a cadre of 500 trained volunteers to support the smooth conduct of the Games and will establish a dedicated Secretariat-cum-Organizing Committee to oversee all planning and operations. In addition, the University will soon release a comprehensive catalogue brochure that will document and showcase the key highlights, statistics, and insights from the 2025 WPFG held in Birmingham, USA, serving as a valuable reference point in the lead-up to the 2029 edition.

- Establishment of the School of NCC & Police Martial Music Band
In a landmark initiative aimed at revitalizing India’s indigenous martial and ceremonial music traditions, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) established the School of NCC and Police Martial Music Band, the nation’s first institution exclusively dedicated to martial, ceremonial, and band music.
The initiative directly supported the Second Panch Pran of Viksit Bharat, which called for the eradication of colonial mindsets and the revival of India’s civilizational ethos. The School of NCC and Police Martial Music Band is India’s first and only dedicated school that seeks to uplift the morale, professionalism, and dignity of these band musicians.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister had repeatedly emphasized the spiritual and cultural strength of Indian music. His words continued to inspire this initiative: “Music is the soul of our culture. It binds generations, transcends languages, and uplifts the spirit of the nation. Most importantly, he proclaimed, “भारत का संगीत विश्व की पहचान बनेगा” – “Indian music will become the identity of the world.”

Expansion of the Bharat Centre of Olympic Research & Education (BCORE)
The Bharat Centre of Olympic Research and Education at Rashtriya Raksha University has launched India's first Olympic Research Grants program, supporting Master's and PhD scholars across India and South Asia with financial assistance, resources, and networking opportunities.
BCORE is proud to announce the backing by a ₹75 lakh corpus (approx. $900,000 USD) from Gujarat State Cooperative Bank and Ahmedabad Cooperative Bank, under the guidance of Shri Ajay Patel, Senior Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association. The organization announces the 2nd International Olympic Research Conference for January 27-30, 2026, inviting global Olympic studies centres and researchers to participate in advancing research collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel remarked:
“We are entering a transformational phase at RRU. From global sporting collaborations to pioneering educational ventures, each initiative is a testament to our vision of excellence, innovation, and nation-first service. The hosting of WPFG 2029, launch of new academic schools, and research centers such as BCORE all signify our commitment to shaping future-ready leaders and institutions.”
