Department of Posts celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August, 2025 with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, Chief Postmaster General of Gujarat Circle Shri Ganesh V. Sawaleshwarkar hoisted the flag at a function organized at Ahmedabad GPO, while Postmaster General, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav hoisted the flag at the Headquarter Region, and extended their heartfelt greetings to the officials.The atmosphere was filled with the national anthem, patriotic songs and the spirit of devotion towards the country.

Chief Postmaster General of Gujarat Circle Shri Ganesh V. Sawaleshwarkar said on this occasion, that this day not only makes us feel proud of our independence, but it also reminds us of our duties and responsibilities. Whenever the country faced a crisis, the people of India have come together in unity, upholding the spirit of “Nation First.” Department of Posts has always worked with the spirit of 'Aharnisham Sevamhe' and has delivered welfare schemes to the last mile of the society. As a department, it is our moral responsibility to fully develop our capabilities and contribute to the progress of society and the nation, this will be the real significance of Independence Day.               

On this occasion, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Independence Day is not just a festival, but it is a symbol of pride, honour and national consciousness. Independence Day gives us the opportunity to reconnect with the spirit of freedom and to become equally aware of our duties along with our rights. It is also a time to recognize the values of freedom and remember the sacrifices made by great individuals, while engaging the younger generation. Underlining the historical and continuous role of postal services, Shri KK Yadav said that the India Post is working as a vital link in the social and economic development of the country along with financial inclusion and Digital India.               

On this occasion, the women postmen of Ahmedabad GPO presented a vibrant and graceful welcome dance performance, captivating the audience with their energy and enthusiasm. Ms. R.J. Acharya and Ms. R.A. Raulji delivered a unique yoga-dance presentation, spreading the message of health and well-being through creative expression. Rahul Prajapati, Ajay Solanki, Bhavya Gandhi, Kanika Agarwal, and Veerpal Vala, among others, also mesmerized the audience with their impressive performances, adding color and charm to the celebration. The program ended with balloons flying up into the sky, celebrating the spirit of freedom.

The event began with a warm welcome address by Senior Postmaster Shri Alpesh Shah, a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Director Shri Ritul Gandhi and the program was smoothly conducted by Ms. Neelflora, who anchored the proceedings with grace and clarity. On this occasion, Director Postal Services Shri Surekh Reghunathen, Assistant Postmaster General Shri Shivam Tyagi, Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices Shri Chirag Mehta, Assistant Director Shri V M Vahora, Shri Ritul Gandhi, Shri M M Shaikh, Shri Miral Khamar, Shri Nainesh Raval, Assistant Accounts Officer Shri Chetan Sain, Shri Ramswarup Mangawa, Dy. SRM Shri N G Rathod, Dy. Manager Shri R A Shaikh, Shri Parag Wasnik, Shri S N Ghori, Assistant Superintendent Ms. Preyal Shah, Shri Jinesh Patel, Shri Ramesh Patel, Shri J S Zid, Shri Ronak Shah, Shri Bhavin Prajapati, Inspector Ms. Payal Patel, Shri Vipul Chadotra, Shri Yogendra Rathod and many other officials and their families were present and celebrated the Independence Day with joy and enthusiasm.
