Inaugural Bulletin Telecast on Independence Day on DD Odia

 

Senior Officials of I&B Ministry and Guests from Sambalpuri-Speaking Region Attend Launch Ceremony

On the historic occasion of Independence Day, the Regional News Unit (RNU), Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar launched its maiden Sambalpuri language News Bulletin. The first bulletin was telecast at 11 AM on DD Odia and was also live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of DD News Odia.

The inaugural bulletin highlighted Independence Day celebrations across India and Odisha, with special coverage on events in Western Odisha, where Sambalpuri is widely spoken.

To mark this significant launch, a ceremonial event was held at Doordarshan Kendra Bhubaneswar. The event was presided over by Shri Narasingha Jethi, Deputy Director General (E), Doordarshan Bhubaneswar. Senior officials from Doordarshan Bhubaneswar, All India Radio Cuttack, and the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Bhubaneswar were also present. Prominent guests from the Sambalpuri-speaking region of Odisha, including Shri Mihir Meher and Shri Ashok Panigrahi, also graced the occasion.

Shri Jethi, in his address, said “It is a proud and happy moment to launch the Sambalpuri News Bulletin. This bulletin will cater to an important region in Odisha.”

Shri Mihir Meher called it a “historic day” and lauded the efforts of the team involved in making the bulletin a reality. Shri Ashok Panigrahi also appreciated the launch and suggested that the content be made more focused on the Sambalpuri-speaking region.

Shri Abhishek Mishra, Head of the Regional News Unit at Doordarshan Bhubaneswar, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the successful launch, including the newsreaders, copy editors, production team, and technical staff. He gave special thanks to the Deputy Director General (E) and the Programme Head of Doordarshan Bhubaneswar. Shri Mishra assured that every effort will be made to ensure the Sambalpuri bulletin is informative, engaging, and reflects updates from the Sambalpuri-speaking regions of Odisha.
