Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be on a visit to Karnataka on Friday, 29 August. During this visit he will participate in many programs in Mysuru and Bengaluru.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji at Sri Suttur Math,Mysuru in morning on 29 August 2025. On this occasion, he will plant saplings and interact with devotees.
After this, Union Minister will visit the institutions of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) located in Bengaluru. The minister will first visit the National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (ICAR-NBAIR), where he will plant saplings, visit the National Insect Museum and Live Insect Repository and see the exhibition of ICAR-NBAIR's latest technologies related to biological pest control.
In the afternoon, Union Minister will visit ICAR's National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI). During this visit, he will review the activities of the institute and interact with farmers, livestock farmers, start-up entrepreneurs, scientists and other stakeholders. The main focus of this visit is on NIVEDI's contribution to national animal health and disease control programs such as PPR, Brucellosis, CSF, FMD and LSD, disease forecasting system, economic impact assessment and progress of One Health activities.
Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also address livestock farmers' workshop and interact with farmers who have made significant progress in their livestock business with NIVEDI's technologies and training. In addition, he will hold a meeting with the directors of other ICAR institutes based in Bengaluru and review their activities and achievements. Local MPs and MLAs will also be present on the occasion.
This visit of Hon. minister will not only showcase the national and international contributions of ICAR-NIVEDI but will also provide further impetus to “Inclusive Agriculture and Livestock Development” through interaction with livestock farmers, innovative start-ups and successful farmers.
