India Post Payments Bank, established as an undertaking of the Department of Posts, reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the mission of Financial Inclusion and Digital India on the occasion of its 8th Foundation Day by living up to its vision of "Aapka Bank, Aapke Dwaar". On this occasion, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that over the past seven years, IPPB has made a remarkable contribution in delivering banking services to the common people in rural India. The core objective of IPPB is to digitally empower every Indian and pave the way for economic independence. IPPB has become an effective medium for delivering various government welfare schemes directly to the last mile. Established on 1 September 2018 with a nationwide launch by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, IPPB has today built a strong foundation. It is worth noting that more than 18 lakh IPPB accounts are being operated in the North Gujarat region, so far provided general insurance to 2.41 lakh people, mobile updation to 6.44 lakh and Aadhaar enrollment of more than 55 thousand children at their doorstep under CELC. DBT payment of Rs 54 crore was made to more than 94 thousand people in North Gujarat. At PAN India, 48% of IPPB customers are women, underlining its important role in women empowerment and inclusive banking.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav appreciated the new initiatives by India Post Payments Bank in a program held at the Regional Office and said that IPPB has launched the ‘Premium Aarogya Savings Account’ at just ₹149, keeping in mind the needs of the people. This account not only ensures their financial security but also addresses their health-related requirements. It is truly an integrated solution combining banking and healthcare, proving to be especially beneficial for people in rural and remote areas. The key benefits of this account includes: unlimited online doctor consultations, discounts on medicines and diagnostic tests, free doorstep banking, and basic digital banking facilities. This account is designed for those who wish to avail both savings and preventive healthcare benefits.

Postmaster General Shri K K Yadav said that during its seven-year journey, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has successfully brought the concept of paperless, cashless, and presentless banking to every doorstep, providing the common people with accessible, secure, and convenient banking services. It has completely transformed the banking landscape of rural India. Through IPPB, Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks are now functioning as mobile bank cum ATM. Services such as Aadhaar enrollment for children at home under the CELC, mobile number updates, digital life certificates, Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), bill payments, AEPS-based bank account transactions, vehicle insurance, health insurance, accident insurance, and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana are all being provided at the doorstep through postmen by IPPB. Online deposits can also be made in Sukanya, RD, PPF, Postal Life Insurance of the post office if someone has an IPPB account. IPPB is committed for improving the lives of people who do not have easy access to insurance & other financial services.
IPPB Chief Manager Shri Abhijeet Jibhkate told that by conducting a three-day campaign in the North Gujarat region to raise awareness about general insurance, an impressive achievement was made with the issuance of over 6,200 new GI policies.
Assistant Director Shri Ritul Gandhi said that IPPB has transformed financial inclusion into a ground reality through its extensive network and the strong infrastructure of the Postal Department.
