As part of the ongoing nation-wide saturation campaign for saturation of financial inclusion schemes launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, a camp was conducted by the State-level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Goa, at Varca Village Panchayat, Salcete Taluka in South Goa, today, September 10th, 2025.

The camp is aimed at maximizing the coverage of social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana, PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY and re-verification of KYC.

Addressing the gathering at the Varca panchayat hall, Ms Neelam Agrawal, Director, DFS, said that the DFS was driving the initiative from July 1 to September 30, 2025 to ensure financial stability for the citizens of the country. “To turn the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India Viksit Bharat a reality by 2047, it is important to make the citizens financially stable. The financial inclusion schemes launched by the government are to support that motto," she said.

Ms Agrawal said that in Goa, at least one camp was being held in each panchayat every day ever since the launch of the campaign. "Government has brought in various schemes for the benefits of the people. But people are not aware of those schemes especially in the grass route level. So, camps like this will help create awareness about such schemes," she said and called on those present at the event to take the message to their near and dear ones. Ms Agrawal also requested the stakeholder departments such as panchayats and district collectorates to extend all the possible support for the success of the camps.

Shri Prabhakar Jha, Regional Director, RBI Goa, asked the beneficiaries to reach out to the concerned banks if they have any grievances. "If the grievances are not resolved, approach the RBI Ombudsman. The RBI will make sure that the grievances are brought to a logical conclusion,” he said. Shri Jha also talked about the UDGAM portal developed by the RBI to help the public search for their unclaimed deposits across various banks in India. “Users can register on the portal and then search for unclaimed funds by providing the account holder's name, a bank name, and at least one identification detail like their PAN, driving license number, or date of birth,” he said.
Ms Flavia Baretto, Sarpanch, Varca Gram Panchayat, said that the beneficiaries should be well aware of the cyber frauds taking place related to the financial services of the banks.
Ms Avelina Dsa, Deputy Collector, South Goa; Shri Daya Shankar, Deputy General Manager, SBI LHO Mumbai; Shri Vivek Dadheech, Regional Head, Bank of India; Shri Sandeep Dharkar, General Manager, NABARD, Goa; and Shailendra Mishra, Deputy General Manager, SBI, and SNBC Member Secretary, Goa, were also present at the event.
The DFS is driving the campaign with a commitment to achieve comprehensive coverage across all Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies in the country ensuring that every eligible citizen is able to avail the intended benefits of the schemes. The camps are also being utilized to create awareness about unclaimed deposits, grievance redressal and cyber frauds.
