National Forest Martyrs Day observed at FRI
-Floral tributes paid to foresters who sacrificed their lives for forests and wildlife

National Forest Martyrs Day was observed today at the Forester Memorial, Brandis Road, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun campus to commemorate foresters who laid down their lives in protecting forests and wildlife. The program began with a two-minute silence in honor of the Forest Martyrs.

On this occasion, floral tributes were paid by Smt. Kanchan Devi, Director General, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education; Dr. Jagmohan Sharma, Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy; Dr. Renu Singh, Director, Forest Research Institute; Principal, Central Academy State Forest Service; along with IFS probationers, Senior Officers, Scientists of ICFRE/FRI, and trainees of CASFoS.

The dignitaries and participants remembered and honored all men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of forests and wildlife, reaffirming the commitment to conserve and protect natural resources for future generations.
