Pondicherry University Professor & Dean Prof. S. Siva Sathya Conferred with Prestigious National Teachers' Award for Outstanding Contribution

Pondicherry University takes immense pride in congratulating Prof. S. Siva Sathya, Professor & Dean, Department of Computer Science and School of Engineering & Technology, for receiving the National Teachers' Award 2025 in recognition of her distinguished service of over 25 years in higher education. Her contributions span the introduction of innovative courses, curriculum design, student mentorship, and active participation in various academic bodies. She plays a pivotal role as a member of the NEP implementation committee, the University’s Nodal Officer for AICTE, Coordinator of First-Year B.Tech programmes, and Ombudsperson for students of the University and its affiliated colleges.
Extending his heartfelt appreciation, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor, Pondicherry University, remarked that Prof. Siva Sathya’s illustrious achievements embody the true spirit of academic excellence, innovation, and service. He commended her leadership in advancing cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence, her efforts in enriching student experiences through mentorship and placements, and her commitment to the holistic growth of the University community. He emphasized that her recognition at the national level by the President of India and acknowledgement by the Prime Minister serve as a moment of pride and inspiration for the entire University fraternity.
Prof. Siva Sathya specializes in Bio-inspired computing and Spatio-temporal mining, and her current research focuses extensively on Artificial Intelligence in the healthcare domain. Collaborating with JIPMER, she has spearheaded the development of several apps for the Cardiology Department with her students’ support. She is also the technical lead from Pondicherry University for the CARDIAC-India consortium, a Ministry of Education project to establish an AI Centre of Excellence (Phase I). In addition, she serves as a Research Fellow at INTI International University, Malaysia.
ssssHer pioneering vision for technology-driven societal impact is reflected in initiatives such as MITRA, a women’s safety app that previously earned her the Naari Shakti Puraskar from the Hon’ble President of India. Beyond her academic and research pursuits, she actively promotes creativity, well-being, and holistic student development, with deep engagement in art, yoga, and personal mentorship. Her commitment to ensuring internships and placements for students through her own network further highlights her student-centric ethos.
