The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) successfully organized a Pensioners’ Awareness Program and the 10th Bankers’ Awareness Program at Ahmedabad on 13th September 2025 under the chairmanship of Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (P&PW)
The events witnessed participation of more than 350 Central Government pensioners from Ahmedabad and neighboring areas and 80 bankers, including officers from eight Central Pension Processing Centres (CPPCs) of Punjab National Bank (PNB). The programs were organized in collaboration with Pensioners’ Welfare Associations from Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

Senior officials from DoPPW conducted detailed sessions on Pensioners’ Portal, CCS (Pension) Rules, Family Pension, Commutation, CPENGRAMS grievance redressal, Digital Life Certificate generation, and services for NRI pensioners. Subject matter experts addressed Cyber Security, Digital Literacy, and CGHS benefits, enhancing participants’ awareness.

Shri Dhrubajyoti Sengupta, Joint Secretary, DoPPW, highlighted key initiatives for improving pensioners’ Ease of Living, including Face Authentication Technology and the successful nationwide DLC campaign that resulted in 1.62 crore DLCs, with 51 lakh using face authentication. He also mentioned that the grievance redressal time has been reduced to 20 days.
Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary (P&PW), emphasized the government’s efforts towards Digital Empowerment of Pensioners, including the launch of the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal on the Bhavishya platform, introduction of a single Form 6A to ensure timely pension sanction, and enhancement of Grant-in-Aid to PWAs. He commended PNB for providing pensioners’ lounges and holding camps during DLC campaigns.

Other dignitaries — Shri Pradeep Kumar, Additional General Manager, Western Railway, Dr. Rajesh Prasad, Chief General Manager, Punjab National Bank, and Shri Unnikrishnan, Secretary, CGPA Ahmedabad — addressed the gathering, sharing initiatives taken for pensioners’ welfare.
A special interactive session, “Pensioners’ Sanvad,” enabled pensioners to raise queries directly with PNB officials. All issues were addressed satisfactorily, resulting in highly positive feedback from participants.

These programs acted as a key platform for capacity building, policy feedback, and on-the-spot resolution of pensioners’ grievances, reinforcing DoPPW’s commitment to improving post-retirement life and strengthening collaboration with banks.
