Pune/Beed, Maharashtra, 15 September 2025

Sudden flash floods struck Beed district of Maharashtra, marooning several villages and leaving families stranded within hours. Responding with urgency, the Indian Army launched relentless rescue operations in close coordination with the Civil Administration.

Army Aviation helicopters from the Thar Raptors Brigade of Southern Command were mobilised at short notice. Braving adverse weather and challenging flying conditions, the pilots flew into cut-off areas to evacuate stranded citizens. Affected population including women, children, and the elderly, are being airlifted to safety, with continuous sorties being undertaken to rescue.

The operations, conducted in synergy with NDRF and State agencies, underscore the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and providing immediate assistance in times of natural calamities.
