Since 01.09.2025, all samples from Delhi Zoo found Negative for H5N1 Avian Influenza Virus; No new mortality of Water Birds reported


Intensive Sanitation and Bio-Security Measures being rigorously implemented to safeguard health of Animals and Zoo Staff

The National Zoological Park (NZP) had informed that no new mortality of water birds in aviary or migratory bird has been reported in the zoo.

All the samples sent to lab after 1st September, 2025 found negative for H5N1 Avian Influenza Virus till date. No mammals in the zoo have been reported positive for H5N1 till date. No other zoo animal has shown any influenza like symptoms.

Intensive sanitation and bio-security measures are being rigorously implemented to safeguard the health of the birds, animals, and zoo staff. The National Zoological Park remains fully vigilant and is undertaking all necessary actions in line with standard protocols and guidelines to contain the disease.

Opening of zoo will be considered by competent authority following due guidelines and informed to all once decided.
