The Central School Organization (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), Ahmedabad Region, inaugurated two Chess Competitions today under the 54th KVS National Sports Meet–2025, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and intellectual excellence among students.

Events and Highlights

1. U-17 & U-19 Chess Competition

Venue: 1. PM SHRI KV No.1, Sector-30 Gandhinagar 2. Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad

Chief Guest: Shri Somit Srivastava, Joint Commissioner (Personnel), KVS Headquarters, New Delhi

Distinguished Guest: Shri Dharmendra Patle, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Ahmedabad Region and Shri Venkteswar Prasad B. Assistant Commissioner & Smt. Meena Joshi Assistant Commissioner KVS Ahmedabad Region Inauguration Time: 8:00 a.m. & 9:00 a.m.

Program: The ceremony featured a welcome song, cultural performances, and the symbolic release of balloons.

Highlights: In his address, Shri Somit Srivastava encouraged students to pursue excellence in both academics and sports. Shri Dharmendra Patle extended his best wishes to all participants, urging them to bring glory to Kendriya Vidyalaya at the national level.

2. U-14 Chess Competition

Venue: Kendriya Vidyalaya, SAC Ahmedabad

Chief Guest: Shri Moksh Amit Doshi, International Chess Master

Inauguration Time: 9:00 a.m.

Participants: 119 young players representing 25 regions across India

Highlights: Shri Moksh Amit Doshi motivated participants to achieve excellence through chess and similar strategic games, emphasizing focus, patience, and perseverance.

Competition Duration: September 15 to September 19, 2025

Objective: To nurture discipline, team spirit, and sportsmanship through the game of chess.
