Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile & Management (SVPISTM) organized a workshop on “Hands-on Training on Dashboard Development using Tableau and Power BI” for students of BBA and MBA Textile Business Analytics at the CAD Laboratory, Academic Block. The session was led by              Dr K. Santhiya, Head of Learning, Training, Content, and Instructional Design, MGC, KGISL EDU, Coimbatore, and focused on equipping students with practical knowledge in business intelligence tools.

 

The workshop introduced participants to data preparation, cleaning, visualization principles, dashboard creation, and interactive features in Tableau and Power BI. Students also explored advanced functions including calculated fields, DAX, Power Query, storytelling, and report publishing, along with comparative insights on both tools and their integration with Python, R, and Excel. A capstone project provided hands-on experience, enabling students to develop dashboards from real datasets and present insights, thereby strengthening their analytical skills and preparing them for industry-relevant certifications like Tableau Desktop Specialist. This workshop enhanced their analytical and visualization skills, preparing them for future roles in data analytics and strengthening their readiness for certifications such as Tableau Desktop Specialist.
