The Mormugao Port Trust Education Society (MPTES) proudly organized a vibrant Teachers’ Day Celebration & Felicitation Programme to honour the unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions of Teachers from Port-run schools namely Deepvihar Primary School (DVPS), Deepvihar High School (DVHS), Deepvihar Higher Secondary School (DVHSS), and the New Dawn Ashadeep Special School (NDASS).

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Harilal B. Menon, Vice Chancellor of Goa University, as the Chief Guest, alongside Dr. N. Vinodkumar, IPoS, Chairperson, MPA, and Shri Vinayaka Rao, Dy. Chairperson, MPA, as Guests of Honour.

The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by the dignitaries, followed by a warm welcome address by Shri Sudanva Fadte, President of MPTES and Chief Engineer of MPA. A compelling presentation showcased the remarkable achievements of all schools under the MPTES umbrella, reflecting the society’s commitment to educational excellence.

   

In a touching felicitation ceremony, Prof. Dr. Menon presented mementoes to the teachers, recognizing their tireless efforts, passion, and impact on generations of students. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to educators who have been pillars of support and inspiration within the community.

Prof. Dr. Menon also delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the transformative power of education and the pivotal role teachers play in shaping society. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Freddy Soares, General Secretary of MPTES, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Heads of Departments of MPA, alongside Teachers and Staff from port-run schools.

stablished in 1982 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, the Mormugao Port Trust Education Society (MPTES) has been a beacon of educational development in the region. With its roots tracing back to 1980-81, MPTES now operates a full spectrum of educational institutions—from nursery to higher secondary—serving the children of Port employees and the wider Vasco community. Present office-bearers of MPTES are Shri Sudanva Fadte, President, Shri Freddy Soares, General Secretary, and Shri Milind Dessai, Treasurer.
