As a part of Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) campaign "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" were initiated under the chairmanship of Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru.

The event began with the Swachhta Pledge taken by all staff members in the presence of Dr. Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), who joined the programme virtually.

Dr. B. Balakrishna, Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) campaign, introduced the planned activities for 15 days under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign. Dr. T.K. Behera addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of cleanliness in daily life and emphasized efforts to make the institute a plastic-free and zero waste campus. He also requested all the staff to undertake all possible programmes under SHS.

Dr. Venkataravanappa proposed vote of thanks. Following the inaugural session, a plantation drive under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative was launched at the campus in which the Director, CAO, all Heads of the Divisions, Nodal Officers, and institute staff actively participated in the event.
