Along with the people of Assam, I share this unbearable grief. It is an irreparable loss for Assamese music. We are left without words, without voice. The fact that our beloved artist of Assamese national life is no longer with us is a truth too painful to accept. Zubeen lives in the heart of every Assamese; he has left a lasting mark across generations. He was not just an artist, but one of our own — like a son in every family. The people of Assam gave him their complete love. To think that such a soulful artist has suddenly left us is beyond belief, beyond imagination.”

“I remember my long association with Zubeen, and his tender voice when he used to call me affectionately as ‘Sarba da.’ That voice will never be heard again. Zubeen was open, fearless, and big-hearted. He loved his people with all his strength. His passing is a huge loss to the social and cultural life of Assam. Yet he will never fade from our memory. His extraordinary creations will continue to live in the hearts of every Assamese. I pray for eternal peace to the noble soul of Zubeen Garg, and I offer my deepest condolences to his family and countless admirers.”
