The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, inaugurated the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan — This campaign is dedicated to empowering women, strengthening families, and promoting national well-being under the inspirational leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The women’s health screening drive was inaugurated by Shri Nikhil Gajraj, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, along with Dr Avinash Menon, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), and presided over by Dr Prabha S Chandra, In-Charge Director, Senior Professor of Psychiatry, NIMHANS. 

As part of this Abhiyaan, health screenings towards non-communicable diseases are being conducted for all women, including patients and women caregivers accompanying patients.

The screenings include:
·        Haemoglobin testing
·        Blood pressure monitoring
·        Body mass index & obesity assessment
·        Mental health screening
·        Dietary counselling

All women attending the outpatient services are invited to attend the screening, and nearly 600 responses have been recorded to date. In the coming week, oral cancer screening and cervical cancer screening for women, blood donation camp and Mass yoga sessions for women will be conducted, the officials informed.
