In a significant step towards enhancing regional railway and road infrastructure, Shri V. Somanna, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, laid the foundation stones for two Road Under Bridges (RUBs) in lieu of LC 380 at Angol Gate (4th Gate), Belagavi, and LC 360 at Khanapur Station Yard, along with passenger amenities at Khanapur Station. He also flagged off Train No. 17317 SSS Hubballi–Dadar Central Express with an additional stoppage at Khanapur. These developments fulfill long-standing demands of the people of Belagavi and Khanapur, improving connectivity and travel efficiency in the region.

In his address, Shri V Somanna emphasized that these RUBs will significantly enhance connectivity between key regions. The RUB at Angol Gate (4th Gate), Belagavi, will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 26.05 crore. The RUB at Khanapur Station Yard, along with passenger amenities such as a platform shelter, waiting room, and toilet, will be built at a cost of Rs. 11 crore and Rs. 2.5 crore, respectively. These projects are expected to greatly improve the travel experience by providing faster and more efficient transit options for the people of Belagavi and Khanapur.

Shri V Somanna also instructed contractors and officials to ensure the highest quality of construction and complete the projects within the stipulated time period.

Earlier today, he conducted a comprehensive window trailing inspection between Dharwad and Belagavi. Enroute, he also inspected Alnawar and Londa railway stations where he interacted with public and addressed their concerns and assured for prompt action.
