Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, GoI Inaugurates a 100-Day Induction Training for Newly Recruited Scientists

A 100-day Training Programme for 117 newly inducted Scientists of the Central Silk Board commenced on 8th October 2025. The programme is structured in multiple phases to provide comprehensive exposure and skill development.

The first phase, a 42-day induction training will be conducted at the Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, focusing on foundational, administrative, financial and behavioral modules. This will be followed by Phase-II, comprising practical training at selected CSB R&D Institutes, and Phases III & IV, which will focus on non-mulberry sericulture exposure. The programme will conclude with Phase-V, offering insights into the post-cocoon sector and silk industries.

Additionally, participants will gain field-level exposure to best practices in mulberry and vanya silk sectors across the country. The training curriculum has been carefully designed to encompass technical, administrative, financial, behavioural competencies and field exposure aiming to enhance the professional skill sets of the new Scientists and enable them to contribute effectively to the mission of the Central Silk Board to make India self-reliant in raw silk production.

The inaugural session was graced by Smt. A. Shanti Kumari, IAS (Retd.), Director General, Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, as the Chief Guest with Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board as Guest of Honour and other senior officials Dr. S. Manthira Moorthy, Director (Tech); Shri Rajiv Kittur, IRS, Joint Director (Admn.), CSB; Shri D.T. Chary, Head & Senior Faculty, Dr. MCR HRD Institute (Course Director); and Dr. Siddique Ali Ahmed, Scientist-D & Head, CBT (Course Director).
