Mysuru, the cultural capital of Karnataka, is all set to resonate with the divine strains of Carnatic music as the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Sangeet Natak Akademi, presents the second edition of Mysuru Sangeetha Sugandha 2025.
The two-day festival is scheduled to be held on 11th and 12th October 2025 at the Senate Hall, University of Mysore. The festival celebrates the timeless Dasa traditions in Carnatic music, paying tribute to saint-composers such as Purandara Dasa, Kanaka Dasa, Vijaya Dasa, and Jagannatha Dasa, whose devotional compositions continue to inspire generations.
Mysuru Sangeetha Sugandha seeks to position Mysuru as a hub for music tourism blending spirituality, culture, and heritage into an immersive experience for visitors. Over 22 concerts will be presented by eminent musicians from across the country, offering audiences a rare confluence of melody and devotion.
Complementing the musical experience will be a vibrant showcase of Karnataka’s arts, crafts, and textiles, organized by the Development Commissioners (Handicrafts and Handlooms), reflecting the state’s rich artisan legacy. A culinary counter by the Institute of Hotel Management, Bengaluru will highlight authentic Karnataka cuisine, while a tourism information stall by Karnataka Tourism will offer insights into the state’s diverse destinations.
The festival will be graced by Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha (Mysuru), along with MLAs, senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Government of Karnataka, and the District Administration of Mysuru.
Mysuru Sangeetha Sugandha 2025 is open to the general public, tourists, students, youth, and connoisseurs of classical music. There are no entry tickets or passes—the festival is free for all. All are invited to experience the Carnatic music, crafts, cuisine, and culture of Karnataka in the heritage city of Mysuru.
