Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Surat Branch Office, successfully organized the Run for Quality event on 12 October 2025, marking a spirited lead-up to the upcoming World Standards Day celebration which is Celebrated Every Year on 14th October. This year's theme, "Shared Vision for a Better World Partnership for the Goals," highlights the indispensable role of cooperative efforts in achieving sustainable development and quality standards globally.

The Run for Quality was officially flagged off by Shri S.K. Singh, Senior Director and Head, BIS Surat, together with Ms. Shefali Barnwal, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7), Surat. Their esteemed presence marked the commencement of the event and underscored the significance of collaboration and emphasizing the event's commitment to community engagement and Public Safety.

The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 1,200 participants including industry personnel, students, and members of the public coming together in a vibrant demonstration of Surat's commitment to quality, safety, and community welfare. This remarkable participation reflects the growing awareness and enthusiasm for standardization as a cornerstone of everyday life.
BIS Surat expresses its sincere appreciation to the Fire Safety Department, Surat Municipal Corporation, the Surat Police Department, Garden Silk Mills, BSNI, and AM/NS Surat for their active involvement and support, which were instrumental in the success of this event. Their cooperation strongly embodies the spirit of partnership essential for achieving the shared goals of quality assurance and sustainable progress.

Shri S.K. Singh lauded all participants and collaborators, emphasizing BIS's ongoing dedication to advancing quality culture and standardization at all levels. The Run for Quality not only served as an engaging community initiative but also reinforced the vital role of partnerships in building a safer, better, and more sustainable world.
