“Your Money, Your Right” Campaign Empowers Citizens in Raipur and Bilaspur to Claim Their Financial Rights

District-level camps were organized in Raipur and Bilaspur under the “Your Money, Your Right” national awareness campaign to inform citizens about claiming their unclaimed deposits, insurance claims, dividends, shares, mutual funds, and pension amounts. This initiative, conducted under the direction of the Department of Financial Services, Government of India, and the Reserve Bank of India, aims to safeguard citizens’ financial rights and increase awareness. Many claims were settled on the spot, and eligible beneficiaries received their money, promoting financial transparency and public welfare.

 

The Raipur district-level camp was held at the Collectorate premises, inaugurated by District Collector Mr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and Deputy General Manager of the State-Level Bankers’ Committee Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sinha. Present at the event were Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Raipur Mr. Kumar Vishwaranjan; Commissioner, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Vishwadeep; Mr. Naveen Kumar Tiwari from the Reserve Bank of India; Assistant General Manager, State-Level Bankers’ Committee Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh; and Senior District Manager Raipur Mr. Mohammad Mofeez, along with representatives from various banks and insurance companies.


Experts provided detailed guidance to citizens on claiming unclaimed deposits, insurance claims, dividends, shares, mutual funds, and pension amounts. Several claims were settled on the spot, while the processing of other claims was initiated. Attendees praised the initiative as a commendable step toward financial transparency and public interest.


The Bilaspur district-level camp was organized at the Auditorium of the Water Resources Department under the leadership of the State Bank of India (Lead Bank, Bilaspur). The camp was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Bilaspur Mr. Saty Kumar Agrawal, who stated that the “Your Money, Your Right” campaign is an innovative, citizen-centric effort to return dormant money to its rightful owners.


During the camp, a total of 133 dormant accounts involving ₹140.01 lakh were settled. On the spot, ₹7.49 lakh and ₹3.31 lakh were returned to eligible beneficiaries. Participating financial institutions included the State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Bandhan Bank, and Life Insurance Corporation of India.


The program was conducted by District Manager Bilaspur Mr. Dinesh Urao and Senior District Manager Mr. Dhanyavad Shapan Agrahi. The administrations of both districts appealed to citizens to participate in upcoming camps in large numbers, secure their financial rights, and make the “Your Money, Your Right” campaign a successful people’s movement.
