Shri V. Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, conducted a motor trolley inspection of Thimmarajanahalli - Urukere (13 KM) new line, part of Tumakuru - Davangere New Railway line project and Urukere- Tumakuru section (12 KM), part of Tumakuru - Rayadurga new railway line project today.

Speaking to the media, the Hon’ble Minister said that in Karnataka, nine major new railway line projects worth around ₹11,800 crore are currently in progress.  After the inspection and authorization by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), operation of trains in Tumakuru–Urukere–Thimmarajanahalli section will be planned.

He further stated that he will be inspecting Doddahalli–Pavagada–Madakasira section, which is part of the Tumakuru – Rayadurga new line project, on 17th October.

The inspection was attended by Shri B. Suresh Gowda, Hon'ble MLA, Tumakuru Rural, Shri G.B. Jyothi Ganesh, Hon'ble MLA, Tumakuru City and Shri Pradeep Puri, Chief Engineer, Construction; Shri Prasad, Chief Engineer, Construction and other officers from Bengaluru Division were also present.
