The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal, organized a one-day Special Outreach Programme (SOP) on Swachhata Hi Seva at CRLC Club, Sega Road, Khwairakpam Leikai, Imphal West, on 19th October 2025.

The function was graced by Shri Saratchand Thiyam, National Awardee and Retired Assistant Engineer, Water Resources Department, Government of Manipur; Shri S. Sunil Singh, Corporator, IMC Ward No. 9, Keishamthong A/C; Shri Heikrujam Devendra Singh, Programme Executive, AIR Imphal; Shri L. Achouba, Former Headmaster, Houchong High School; and Shri H. Deepakkumar Sharma, Field Exhibition Officer, CBC, RO Imphal, as members of the presidium.

The event also featured a one-hour cleanliness drive in the nearby area, followed by the planting of saplings to promote environmental sustainability.

Delivering the keynote address, Shri H. Deepakkumar Sharma highlighted the importance of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and the pivotal role of CBC in creating public awareness and motivating citizen participation.

As the resource person of the SOP, Shri Saratchand Thiyam spoke on the significance of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, underlining the noble vision of the Government of India. He also emphasized the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, initiated under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

Shri S. Sunil Singh, Corporator, IMC Ward No. 9, Keishamthong A/C, appreciated CBC for choosing his ward for such a noble initiative under Swachhata Hi Seva and encouraged community participation in sustaining cleanliness efforts.

In his presidium address, Shri Heikrujam Devendra Singh, Programme Executive, AIR Imphal, lauded the initiatives of CBC and stressed the importance of active citizen involvement in realizing the dream of a clean and self-reliant nation envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi.

The programme also included a quiz competition based on the theme Swachhata Hi Seva, followed by a cultural performance presented by the Departmental Troupe of CBC, RO Imphal, which concluded the event on an inspiring note.

The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri N. Jawaharlal, Staff Artist, CBC, RO Imphal, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and attendees for making the event a success.
