Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 Inaugurated at ICAR–IIHR, Bengaluru

The ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on 27th October 2025 with great enthusiasm. The theme for this year’s observance, “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” highlights the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of work.

At the outset Dr. A. Nagaraja, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest, Shri D. P. Nagendra Kumar, IRS (Retd.), former Member, GST, CBIC, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Ezhilmathi K, IRS, Commissioner, GST Appeals, Bengaluru.

Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR–IIHR, felicitated the dignitaries and highlighted the institute’s continued commitment to ethical governance and organizational transparency.

In her address, Dr. Ezhilmathi K emphasized the role of personal integrity and moral courage in public service. Delivering the keynote address on “Role of Preventive Vigilance – Leveraging Technology,” Shri D. P. Nagendra Kumar spoke about how technology strengthens governance by enhancing transparency and accountability, which are essential for national growth.

Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR–IIHR, felicitated the dignitaries and highlighted the institute’s continued commitment to ethical governance and organizational transparency. Dr. T. K. Behera, in his concluding remarks, reminded everyone that honesty, alertness, and responsibility are the foundations of good leadership and a vigilant organization. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, marking the beginning of a weeklong observance of various awareness activities at the institute.
