The fourth edition of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025, a major initiative to promote local sporting talent and physical fitness among the youth of the Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency, was held today at the Chandrasekhar Azad Indoor Stadium in Malleshwaram. The event was inaugurated by Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment. Shri Jaggesh, Member of Rajya Sabha and Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, MLA for Malleshwaram Assembly Constituency were present during the inauguration. 

Addressing the gathering, Minister Shobha Karandlaje reiterated Hon'ble Prime Minister’s vision of fostering a robust sports culture at the grassroots level. She stated that the achievers from various sports fields present at the event should serve as an inspiration for children to engage in sports. She emphasized the importance of physical fitness for all age groups and lauded the phenomenal participation, especially from senior citizens, calling it a testament to their enduring energy and spirit.

The Minister highlighted that the objective of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is not just to promote sports and fitness, but to identify and nurture genuine talent from the constituency and guide the youth towards building a 'Viksit Bharat.' Speaking on the occasion, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Jaggesh stated that the main aim of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is to strengthen the nation, advising the youth, "Where there is a goal, there is determination; let your goal be one with determination."

Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, MLA for Malleshwaram, mentioned that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, being held under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shobha Karandlaje in the Bengaluru North constituency, primarily aims to encourage sports. He stressed that sports should be given the same importance as education and culture. He also added that while achieving in the field of education is relatively easier, success in sports is challenging. He urged the youth to engage in sports to keep themselves away from vices in society. As part of the Mahotsav, the Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with the hoisting of the flag and offering floral tributes to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, the mother of Kannada culture.

The event featured a Tug-of-War competition and a grand demonstration of the traditional sport of Mallakhamb which captured the attention of all attendees. Several achievers from various sports fields were felicitated during the program, including Girish Hosanagar Gowda, Arjun Devaiah, Anju Bobby George, K. Y. Venkatesh, Ranjini Ramanujam, Srihari Nataraj, and Dhyan Kashyap.

Later, the Kabaddi tournament, as part of the Sansad Krida Mahotsav was inaugurated at the Subedarpalya Ground within the Malleshwaram constituency of the Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency and wishes were conveyed to the competitors.
