The Valedictory Programme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 was successfully organized today at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (ICAR-IIHR), Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru. The week-long observance, held from October 27 to November 3, 2025, focused on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

The ceremony, held at the Dr. G.S. Randhawa Auditorium, commenced with the ICAR song and IIHR jingle. Shri K. G. Jagadeesan, Senior Finance & Accounts Officer, ICAR-IIHR, was introduced and welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. Nagaraja, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer, presented a brief report on the extensive activities conducted throughout the week. These initiatives included pledge-taking ceremonies, essay and quiz competitions, poster-making, awareness campaigns, and other outreach activities designed to promote integrity and transparency among staff and students. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Sanjay Pathak, Joint Secretary (Finance), ICAR, New Delhi, who was felicitated by Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR.

Shri Pathak distributed prizes to the winners of the various competitions. In his address, he emphasized the critical importance of maintaining honesty, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of public service. He strongly urged everyone present to contribute collectively toward establishing a corruption-free work environment.  Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR, highlighted that vigilance is not just the mandated responsibility of vigilance officers but is a shared moral duty of every individual within the organization. He commended the Vigilance Cell for their effective organization of the week’s events.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Sachin Agnihotri, Chief Administrative Officer (Senior Grade), ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
